1910 Treasury Russell Morgan Fact USPCC Antique Poker Playing Cards

My latest vintage purchase just came in today. This is a 1910 Treasury Russell Morgan Fact USPCC Antique Poker Playing Cards 52+ Joker. I really liked the backs when i saw this one and said why not. The cards are  in amazing condition ( except for 3 cards); the corners were originally gold gilded but I would say that about 15% of it is left. Anyway happy with this find. enjoy the pics

To me this is a spectacular deck - US 18e in Hochman Encyclopedia. The creature on the back [they have a name but I can't retrieve it from my aging memory bank} seems to be a small dragon with wings and is most unusual. The Joker is an outstanding example of detail and interest with the eagle, the Treasury Building with the people, trolleys, bicycles, etc and the cornucopia of coins and treasury notes. Neat find. I will try and dig up the name of the back.

There is no story per say. Every month i check with my regular seller to see what he has... It is so amazing t he vintage decks he is selling. There was another nice vintage deck that he had but it had no box or no joker... I meant to ask that question in the past...How much does a deck devalue when there is no box or joker?  Is it half value or less or more?

Anyway got a good deal i think on this Russell deck so i snatched it

Very rough guide but many exceptions/modifications depending on age, rarity etc.:
Mint, complete, box, joker, extra card if applicable = 100%
Missing box = 75%
Missing a pip card = 80%
Missing joker = 60%
Missing box and joker = 50%
Discounts for condition less than mint as well.

The creature on the card back might be a kirin from Japanese legends.  The beer company was named after it.

(If you can find a place selling it and you love beer, try Kirin Ichiban.  In Japanese, "ichiban" means "first" as in first-quality, the best one can offer, etc.  Not many Japanese restaurants have it, and some of the ones that do don't list it on the menu.)

I do like Kirin beer which is available in most Japanese restaurants in Toronto.
I suspect I have a sample card with this back which hopefully will provide the official name. Will check on the weekend and post.

Very nice find with this wonderful Joker! The name of this back is Dragon.
For this deck, I think there is an interesting comparison concerning the joker of the Treasury #89 and the Joker of the Phoenix Club deck.
