Any tangible object is worth only what someone is willing to pay for it. No more, no less.
Of course, sentimental value doesn't factor in here!
I would never bid that much for a brick. When a deck's going for around $20, I think long and hard about how much I want it. When it goes over $30, the decision is practically made for me - too much.
I get the feeling that the buyer saw dollar signs and is using them as investment.
