I originally hated this deck, but the pips have started to grow on me. Does anyone know why the pips are like that though?

True, but it's kinda weird that they only did that to one pip per card. It's still pretty awesome, and I think it adds to the decks "artsy" value.

I know. I even mentioned that. I'm not bashing the deck, I'm loving it. Let me rephrase that. It's not weird, it's interesting.

I think from now on, even the decks say limited, it will last for a while, except they really specify that it's 5000 produced. People are getting more picky. And I think it's better.

I live in Canada, but priority mail via USPS usually takes a week to a week and a half to arrive. But remember that it states they will not even start shipping until December 5th, so its going to be a while.

And now it's TWO days later and they're still around.  There was a LOT of stuff hitting the stores all at once and I don't think D&D hyped this as much as the other shops did.  Tons of buzz around Black Crown, Ltd., Infinity, Monarch, Gold Monarch, CARC Pro Bikes,  Vortex, Galvanic, Crimson Gate, the Black Friday White Centurions (I wish I got in on that one; I was out when the email came to me and by the time I got home it was too late to act) with JAQKs and brown Wynn's and who knows what else from the smaller companies or USPC themselves.

I'd like to agree with you on this one.  It would represent a slight cooling of the marketplace.  Too much crap is being thrown at the walls with the companies making them hoping that they stick.  A choosier market means they'll have to decide more carefully what gets made and what doesn't.

The only wrench that's thrown into those works would be that despite the crap, there's a LOT of good cards coming from the major players.

But then again.... isn't it a good thing for us that the Fultons Clip deck is still here? Hopefully it will last a while and we can order more of the, once we use ours!

I don't think these decks will sell out anytime soon.

I went to the D&D site, and typed in that I wanted to buy 1000 decks.. and it was going to process it

I guess it all boils down to the definition of limited.  Fifty million is still a limited quantity...  :)

Just to let everyone know, I asked the twins what stock and finish the Fulton cards would be on, and i got this back in reply,

"Hello John,

The stock/finish is very close to the Aristocrats.

Cheers,
Dan"

I don't know about you but that seems a tiny bit vague to me, so i asked Dan if he meant the banknote reprints, to which i got this,

"Yes, I was referring to the reprints.

Cheers,
Dan"

I personally never handled the aristocrat banknotes so i wouldn't know what to expect, just throwing the information out their to the rest of you :).

My guess is that people were waiting and waiting for the v6, and now that they are releasing many impractical (or is it unpractical) decks such as the Tugenstein and Fantastiqué decks, no one sees the point of buying many of these decks.

Although these decks are gorgeous, the "one odd pip" is sure to make laymen suspicious.

No, it isn't sure to make laymen suspicious. It's just playing cards. The regular Bicycle Rider Back decks aren't the standard everyone's used to seeing. You have thousands of cheap decks from gas stations, airlines, promo decks etc. On top of that, USPCC have themselves printed tons and tons of different designs. And that's just in USA, where Bicycle decks are quite common. Outside of the US Bicycles are quite rare, and for example in Sweden you're more likely to run into a deck of Öbergs playing cards. Does that make people suspicious of Bicycle cards here? Nope. Despite most of them not having seen them before.

The whole 'custom decks make laypeople suspicious' is just something magicians have cooked up in their own minds when faced with 'is that a trick deck?' while holding a deck of custom cards. It's not about the cards. It was either a) the spectator being the type of person to always think it's the deck, or b) you did something to make the spectator think it was a special kind of deck.

As for the odd pip thing on the Fulton's deck - it looks awesome and I'm absolutely positive spectators will only react with thinking that it's a cool feature of the design. They won't think it's a button you can press to make the magic happen.

To steer this even further back onto topic after my rant, I must say I'm looking forward to this deck. I went ahead and purchased a bunch after only seeing the box and the faces - still haven't seen the back design up close.  ;D
Yes, I might be the guy you remember from that thing at that place way back when.

Thanks Narcus for explaining that to me. Whenever I perform magic, I'm always so paranoid that people know what's going on even though they have no idea.

I love the look, and will probably go ahead and order a few to use.
