If Dan and Dave aren't making these, then someone should be making them really soon.  These cards beat the pants off of so many decks I've been seeing lately!!

The text on the AoS changed a bit from the earlier concept pics -- I'm taking that as a positive sign!

What I like about this deck is that it has a classic look, but seems to have a high degree of functionality.

I brought  bunch of custom decks to a poker game once and they wouldnt stop complaining of how they couldnt tell the difference in the royalties. Due to them being so no-standard. Ever since then, My collection has placed more emphasis on nice back designs and how it will look at the card table.

tldr;

I want these cards.

I have to agree with what most are saying. Probably one of the best looking decks that's come out from one of the big boys recently.
Last night I stayed up late playing poker with Tarot cards. I got a full house and four people died.

I tried to get the rights to the deck, but the Twins did pay for the full design in advance. I am glad to see they are finally out! Have to pick some up.

Is that to say that NO ONE ELSE can make a pack with the Aviators brand?  That sounds rather extreme.  If that's the case, I'm going to make a few calls and buy the rights for the Bicycle, Hoyle, Arrco and Tally Ho brands right now...  :))

I get the feeling that you could still make an Aviator deck - just one not too close in design to what the Bucks did.

I was messing around with the Aviator deck tonight. Has anyone noticed the one-way back design? I cannot tell if they are marked yet but they're definitely a one-way back. Subtle enough yet very functional.

I don't have any, but looking at the photos of older posts here, I can't see the one-way marks.  Where are they?

I don't own the deck either but it's hemispheres with appropriate continental layout, as well as the background rivets and panel lay out.
Part of my Collection updated infrequently but occasionally, when I remember. (I haven't in months.)

The area with the one-way aspects that I originally noticed were around the border (shading near particular rivets and the shadow of the border in all but one corner. I'll have to get photos when I get access to a suitable camera.

Good call. I didn't even notice that... the most obvious too.

Here's a picture of the back, albeit not the best as it was from my iPhone.  I have also included a close up of the center of the deck...notice the word OMNIA...on the top half, the O is quite prevalent, but on the bottom half, the top line that makes up the O is lighter and thus it looks like a U...what do you think?

It's not U-like, but it is different.  Combine that with the hemispheres - the DEAD OBVIOUS thing we missed! - and we have a one-way back.

It's really easy to overlook the things we're used to seeing. Our brains just accept that it's there and go on without drawing attention to them. Happens a lot but the most obvious in our day to day lives are identifiers like Flags, Street signs for example. We overlook them until we actually look for them. Kind of fun how our brains play tricks on us. I bet those hemispheres jump out at you every time you look at the deck now though. ;)

I noticed the hemispheres right off when I opened my pack. The etchings on the borders and the rivet/panel patterns are also one way. But with poor registration, almost any USPC deck I've seen recently is one way.

...also the compass needles have one-way scratches. Very nice deck on closer inspection. The deco-like font on the card numbers is very cool.
