Hey Everyone,

I'm new here, found the forum doing a google search. I'm from NJ, USA.  I've been picking up older playing card decks here and there and also card boxes.  Growing up playing cards with my grandfather I've always liked them. Once I started collecting antiques and other things I got interested in playing cards too.  Can't say I have a very large collection. I prefer to get pre-1900 complete decks but you don't find them too often for the "right" price.  I do have a Tiffany Harlequin deck I'm happy with and a couple of other older ones.  Just thought I'd check out the forum to see if there was an active community trading decks, singles, etc. Hope to learn a bit too!

I get the feeling that A Cellar of Fine Vintages will be your favorite hangout - but you should check out some of the newer designs over on the Playing Card Plethora as well.  Some of the work modern designers are doing is quite astonishing.

No, not a member of anything playing card related until I joined this forum.  I'm mainly a general collector with many interests, one of which is playing cards. To try to cross multiple interests I try to stick with antique playing cards.  I know they don't take up too much space but if I don't limit myself with all the other stuff I collect I'll have people calling me a hoarder (more than usual)

Nice find on the Tiffany Harlequin. I would love to have a set, and I see one pop up every once in a while. Just can't pull the money trigger.

Gotta watch out for that hoarding thing. Every time I get a package at home. The first thing the GF says "I wonder what that is  ", and then she pretends to care as I open it.

Thank you all for the warm welcome.  It will probably take me a little while but I'll find a quiet little corner to post some pics of stuff I've found interesting. The decks I'm sure you know but I've found some interesting card boxes you all might like. Just have to find a weekend I'm not running around trying to buy stuff!
