Black Friday/Cyber Monday Vortex Special - Discourse exclusive

Hey guys, I have been contemplating how to implement Black Friday savings for a Kickstarter and the solution is actually quite simple. A tiered reward system. When a certain amount of money is pledged, you get certain items.


One thing I don't want to be is a start up company that can't give some stuff away for the holidays. We are not quite meeting the goals I had wanted to in order to give everyone free decks, but I think this extra pick-me-up is something you pledges will enjoy.


Here is how it works: Make your pledge by this coming Monday 11:59 AM EST (right before it becomes Tuesday) and you get free stuff if you've pledged enough! If you've already pledged, feel free to upgrade or just sit back and enjoy free stuff.


Pledges of  $50 or more get one free deck.
Pledges of $100 or more get two free decks.
Pledges of $250 or more get three free decks.
Pledges of $500 or more get five free decks.




Your free stuff will be automatically added to your shipment when we ship out the decks. Of course if we reach our other reward thresholds those will be included as well. That's a lot of free decks. You can use them, display them, sell them, eat them - whatever you want to do with them is okay with me. My advice? Use your extra decks to make awesome gifts for (literally) anyone. Talk about a unique birthday present!


This is an announcement that will only be view-able by people that browse the Discourse as an additional way of saying thank you for contributing in making this absolutely awesome community exist.

But just one question, how would you know whether the pledger is a member in the Discourse? Or are you saying that anything would get the extra deck if they pledge enough, whether or not they are a member of Discourse? And it's just that we get to see the announcement?

so even though we haven't reached 36,000 buck we still get free decks? that means i get 2 more to add on to my twelve, but selling 6 to a friend in Brisbane, hell probably get another one for a bit extra

I would love to take advantage of the special, but with my cash flow being what it is, I can't.  I've got three Kickstarter projects hitting their deadlines in three consecutive days and they're all over 100% funded already.

Speaking of which, it's looking more and more like Crimson Gate might fail.
