Popped in to order for a pair and noticed, Pack Jackets! Haha, I added a half a dozen of them as well.:)
Part of my Collection updated infrequently but occasionally, when I remember. (I haven't in months.)

  • Facebook:
Alright, I got ahead of myself =( I will have to keep my fingers crossed that there will still be one available Friday when I can actually get in and get one purchased. Such an incredible oportunity to be a part of this even when I'm not able to travel to get to meet people and shake hands and get one of these decks as the cherry on top of what sounds like and amazing convention sunae. I'm sure there will be one or two floating around the resale market soon, so hopefully I can pick one up there if I miss out now.

The cost of a membership and the decks will probably be LESS than the aftermarket price for the decks themselves.  Consider joining!

I sent payment and I am waiting for the confirmation so I can log-in/pick up a few of these decks. I am super stoked for the silver version as well as the soon to come gold. I think the gold looks absolutely amazing.

Gold version?  I've heard nothing about a gold version.  Where did you learn of it?

Decks come and go - I was lucky to find another Hodges a few years later. We miss you at the conventions - time you re-emerge!

Doug Rickenback here, I guess I'll stop "lurking" and actually post something...

The deck is great, the convention was super, but the best of all is meeting all these fine people in the flesh and having the chance to learn and share with the experts!  Howdy Tom, Judy, Rob & all!

PS - Tom can you "bump" my profile to member status?

Thanks,
Doug

Some people have asked about how the Club Deck handles (if you dare open yours!).

They handle like butter...

I've said this before - the odds that one of these decks will be on eBay "cheap" are slim.  Even if one does, it's going to be one of the very few.

It will probably be cheaper and definitely be easier to join the Club, get ALL the Club benefits, and buy the deck at regular retail.  It's a good time to join (says the guy who can see behind the curtain at what's coming up soon)...  :))

Lee, if I recall, they can access for more than just CTD on Ask Alexander - there's a number of magazine/newsletter titles they can access at the 52+J level!

Yes, you can access the Chicago Playing Card Collector's Club newsletters as well as the International Playing Card Society's Newsletters. Plus, the CARC throws in some magic texts for 30 days. It's pretty sweet!

I tried joining a couple days ago when the video with Jackson and Bill was posted but I got a message saying I had to be approved by an administrator before I can become a member. I haven't heard anything since then so I'm not sure how to purchase the deck.

Hi 10 of Clubs
If you go to the link "Join right now" in Lee's post four or five below and quoted above, it takes you to a form to fill out and submit. You will get a reply asking you to send the fee to the Club [or you can send the fee with your registration using the "Buy Now" button]. Once that is finished you will be authorized by the Treasurer [approved by an administrator] and able to access the Members Section of the Club website. The order page will be right in front of your eyes. LOL - It is a lot simpler than it sounds as I re-read this.

Just put in my order for 2 decks. Thanks 52+, this is a great opportunity to get a great deck! Can't wait!
Kickstarter completely revolutionized the way I waste money.

The people who handle playing cards are always in a world of delicate fingertip technology.

I thought the same thing.  The gold looks better than the silver ones which makes the decision easier to wait and open a gold and save all silvers ones.

I haven't seen either the silver or the gold decks in real life, but in pictures, I think I favor the silver - it's more subtle but still cool looking! I find the gold a bit too "in your face" relative to the silver... That being said, I'll still be picking up some of the gold decks as they're still pretty cool in my book! =)

I think the silver embodies the concepts Jackson was trying to incorporate better [in fact exceptionally well] - but I guess I'm not truly objective!

I think the Club deck was all about the presentation, a beatiful "Box" with a subtle design, being Silver it doesn't jump out at you as much as the gold does, so it has a "Cleaner" look. The Gold looks just as amazing because you see the Detail and pattern of the design right out of the gate. I think both look amaxzing in their own way and Jackson and EPCC did a great job on the entire project.

Believe shipments of club deck have been made to those who purchased through club website last week. Can anyone confirm receipt?
