Might be because the courts look like images from the occult.

My creepy meter is different than most folks.  I am often showing art to friends where they look at me funny and tell me that it is dark or creepy.  I can see the creepy factor.  Perhaps I think creepy is beautiful.  It is starting to seem that way

I like the aesthetic of the faces.  Even if it is creepy to some it still works overall. Just wish I could make out the detail on the backs.

I looked at more images on the link and I kind of like these, especially the indices in the corners. The Aces look like they have a stamped effect that is very cool, not sure about the court cards. The tuck box is printed on the inside so that's awesome too.

I think everyone knows how I feel about one way backs, indices placement, etc etc. Add animal headed people on things I don't much like. Even so.... 

This deck is gorgeous!

I absolutely love it. I love how he's done the indices, I love the card back, I love the "stamped over" look of the courts. The stamps on the face cards. The tuck is great too. It's not my usual taste at all, but what a great job on these. I even like the black outline along the card faces. Everything on these work so well with one another in my opinion.

I suspect this will be nominated.

Agree, I ordered a pair the moment I heard about these.  I LOVE the old world creepy look and occult anthropomorphic creatures to boot?  Yeah, simply epic.  If only the uncuts weren't so pricey and I was already over my limit there.  Reminds me of my Dark Suits deck (http://shop.antlersgallery.com/product/dark-suits-playing-cards), except way more authentic and vintage looking.

I'm not sure about the black outline, but the rest is good enough.

I am new here, but it's my pleasure to see your discussion about my custom cards.
Also thanks to ecNate and shadowkat for posting some images and infos.

A lot of you are interested in manufacturer and his history.
The most traditional card producer in our region Hraci Karty (it means Playing Cards in czech) is famous for Pegasus Logo.
The history begun in 1884. In the past there was different names based on owner's name - Ritter. It was Ritter, Ritter & Cie ...
There were a lot of renaming and owners because of hard times i Europe - the end of the Austro - Hungarian Empire, 1. World war and 2. WW...and after that in 1948 the start of communism. In the period of totality in Czechoslovakia the company was under administration of government/state.
The new history of Pegasus cards begun after Velvet revolution in 90's. New generation of Ritter family got his company back and now they'r producing a lot of quality traditional decks for Central European region (marias, canasta, rummy, patience and my favorite taroky )
