Card Culture - a note to the editor

Dear Don
Due to the craziness in the Dawson household at Christmas I have put off reading Card Culture until I had time to browse through it properly. I am very impressed - it looks great, reads easily and imparts knowledge.   What more could readers ask for?

Thanks to all who are investing their valuable time to this project, the first issue is a sure winner.  Keep up the good work!
Judy Dawson

PS. If you have read and enjoyed CC,
dash off a note to the editor, compliments are always well received!

I did send this letter to the editor but I think it should be here as well for those who might really be interested in discovering more about playing cards, designs and history through the club, 52plusjoker.org. I also like the idea of making the odd issue of Card Culture available everyone. Keep up the good work!

Very cool! Welcome to the Club!  :D
Part of my Collection updated infrequently but occasionally, when I remember. (I haven't in months.)

A monthly magazine.  I like it.  Is it going to be public? After reading the issue it would be nice to see a pw link to the 52+ Joker Clear the Decks issue in that month also.  I WOOD like to subscribe for the do not mail and save you some money.

Glad you joined!  You'll see some extra 52+J boards on the forum now - I think it was Lee that posted a copy to one of the topics in there, so go check it out!

I've made a tweak to the page size for the next issue - if you have a good "borderless" printer, you'll be able to print out future issues if you want hard copies.  I don't recommend it, though - the magazine will be filled with active links from month to month, something a printed edition won't be able to utilize.

A monthly magazine.  I like it.  Is it going to be public? After reading the issue it would be nice to see a pw link to the 52+ Joker Clear the Decks issue in that month also.  I WOOD like to subscribe for the do not mail and save you some money.

You wood like to subscribe?  Perhaps after you carve some would?  :))

As it stands now, it's a private publication just for club members.  I'm considering putting together a publicly-available sampler issue once in a while with articles from past issues.  The intent is to use it as a recruitment tool to entice potential members.  We'd need more issues under our belts first, though - can't just pull articles out of a hat, right?  :))

Providing a link to the current issue of CtD over at Ask Alexander would be a good idea, I think.  It gets more people reading the issue as well as more people checking out the Ask Alexander database.  There's a treasure trove of magazines from our club and many others there, all included in your membership.
