  • Pick a card, any card...no, not THAT card!

  • Facebook:
The purpose of this topic is very simple: be the first person to post here about any deck that gets released in 2015.  By "released in 2015", the meaning is "either made available for retail purchase or distributed to crowdfunding backers between January 1st and December 31st, 2015 C.E."

READ THE LIST CAREFULLY BEFORE YOU POST.  Duplicate listings will be removed.  Include the release date if it's not released on the day you posted it but on some earlier date.  Pre-dated posts - posting a deck BEFORE its actual release date - will also be removed.  I want to know when it's available for order or en route in the mail, not when someone THINKS it will be.  Attach a screen capture of where the deck can be obtained online.

At year's end, I'm going to pick the person with the most correctly-made posts to receive a token of gratitude.  I will also pick a randomly-selected poster to receive an honorable mention.  Even if you don't make the most posts, the more posts you make, the better chance you'll have for the honorable mention, because you get one entry per correctly-made post when I make my drawing.

Remember, it's all about being the FIRST.  :))

I'll try to keep a list in this first post, updated with the new releases, perhaps once a month - more if there's a sudden flurry of releases.

The School of Cardistry Deck

Sorry, my friend - this isn't a pack of playing cards.  They're specially-made cards for cardistry only; the cards have no suits or values on them.  It's more of a cardistry accessory than a pack of cards.  It's not even like it's a magic deck or a marked deck - it's completely unplayable other than for card manipulation or picking your teeth...  :))  I'm still wondering why they put suit pips on the front of the box - they're the only pips to be found!

Very cool deck design!  I think it borrows a lot from the Kem Arrows, which would make it at least familiar to poker players - they're arguably the most popular Kem deck design for poker players.  What will make or break this is pricing and quality of the plastic stock.  I've seen plastic cards with a snap and firmness similar to Bicycle or even Bee, but I've also seen plastic cards with all the firmness of an overcooked ribbon of pasta...

The Retro Deck now available from Pocono Modern.

While it didn't see the funding goal required to make both decks, Pocono Modern decided to go ahead and have the grey deck printed. The white deck may follow suit later this year. My grey decks arrived on Saturday. These are both available and shipping now.

AVES by LUX Playing Cards

I received my Aves playing cards last week. They are now absolutely available for purchase at luxplayingcards.com. Funded on Kickstarter, Aves is an Avian inspired custom deck printed by USPCC. The deck comes in two tuck box flavors, Bicycle branded and unbranded. If you happened to miss the campaign and would like some of the unique offerings for this deck they are available for purchase at this time. Follow the link at the beginning of this post for more information.

BC deck preview anyone?

You're right - Lion's Den Casino from Ellusionist.

Still debating whether I want to renew.  A lot of the decks last year were hit or miss for me.

I want to take a second to remind everyone that you should list a deck only when it is either available at retail or being fulfilled and shipping from the KS project creator or their fulfillment service.  No pre-sales.  No "it's shipping soon."  The reason is two-fold.

First, I'm making sure that only those decks actually on the market get listed and only when they arrive.  Who knows?  Some natural or man-made disaster could keep a deck from reaching its recipients, or a KS project could turn out to be a scam and no one gets their decks.

Second, I'm working out a rough chronology of when these decks are released.  I won't have exact dates often, except perhaps for commercial releases from the bigger companies and the printers.  But having a ballpark figure is close enough.

Thanks for reply, Don. I didn't know about this deck and how it looks and if is worth it. I order 4 Gold Artifice, 2 Black Artfice, 3 White Rounders and this new deck, 34$ shipping. BC decks was the last they let me order :) I will sell 1-2 decks to save shipping. On 31 March my BC member ship will end. This is the 2nd year (or 3rd year?! Lol I can't remember) and I hope I will end here with it.

Sorry for offtopic! I tried to get some photos of this new BC deck.

It's just a suggestion, maybe promo codes list need to be updated or maybe a new 1st post list with this codes. (deckpromo code worked, btw)

LE. I've got two photos for UC. I don't like the deck...TH looks even better ;)

Most of the promo codes we had are defunct.  I'm not even sure were we have them posted now, if anywhere!  The ones that weren't canceled were single-use only.

Impressions Playing Cards Kickstarter page.

MPC's Impressions Playing cards are arriving! Impressions feature a new process to playing cards these are Touch and Feel playing cards with raised pips, indices, and faces. The Impressions decks will be available very soon from Makeplayingcards.com. Look for them under the header MPC Brands. Here is a photo from the KS page showing the Impressions Range. Stealth, is a black deck featuring a black and white card back with black card faces. Kingdoms of a New World Playing Cards
by Nathanael Mortensen

Another crowd funded deck arrives! Kingdoms of a New World playing cards are fully custom playing cards offered in three flavors. Red and Blue blacks for that classic look as well as a Limited Edition Black and Brown backs as well as darker colored courts and grey toned face cards. Despite the slow roll out of Kickstarter fulfillment these decks have landed with several retailers. This weekend they are now being offered for sale through various retail avenues including but not limited to ebay retailers. Expect many more retailers to have them in stock during the next week. Most US retailers have not listed them yet due to the american holiday. Expect international retail availability shortly.

Bicycle Cthulhu: Unnameable Horrors Edition, Elder Sign Edition, Necronomicon Edition, R'lyeh Rising Edition.
by Dann Kriss

This Bicycle Cthulhu series was crowd funded on kickstarter and is now available for purchase from various retailers around the world, including ebay retailers. Should be seeing their availability increasing over the next few weeks. This series of playing cards feature a fully custom design from the ground up. Unnameable Horrors edition is billed as an unlimited edition, but as with most Kickstarter decks they're limited by the nature of the printing process. Elder Sign and Necronomicon editions are each limited to 3,000 decks. R'lyeh Rising edition is also a limited edition deck, the last deck in the series, differs from the other decks in the series showcasing shades of blue with an action pose Cthulhu as opposed to the three single item focus we see on the other three edition tuck boxes. All four decks in the series are Bicycle branded and manufactured by USPCC.

Bicycle Dream Playing Cards
By Card Experiment

Earlier this month saw the release of Bicycle Dream with retail availability. The decks, originally available for pre-release orders in late November were slated for proper release mid December, only to see the mid December date come and go. Availablity of Bicycle Dream began very early this month with access to the decks spread fairly wide by the second week of January. Bicycle Dream comes in to Limited Editions, Gold and Silver, with each edition seeing a print run of only 2,500 decks. These fully custom decks also feature a thin border design and metallic inks to accompany the out of this world dream land designs by Chatchanok Wongvachara.

The two deck series is now available from Card Experiment as well as other retailers of playing cards around the world.

Thanks Don. I have to agree Card Experiment does make some really nice decks. Always bringing an interesting design, I don't know how they do it. Glad they do though haha.

Just a heads up for those of new collectors out there who may not have any of the Card Experiment decks. They are currently offering their previous 8 decks in a bundle at a nice price. Click Here if interested.
