And the last picture! There. At least now I can't be accused of teasing these decks to death with blurry pictures and whatnot before their release, right?  ;)

I have to say, I really like the color choices here. I'm particularly fond of the teal colored courts and the golden color card back. The card back is composed well, while being simple. I'm really glad it's not full bleed. These look nice. Don't hold out on us too long Marcus haha. I must know when and where so I can get my mitts on a couple of those signature editions. :))

Hey, Marcus,
Are these going to be released the same way as Run, through all the different resellers? or is it going to be through Murphy's? and approximately when?
Last night I stayed up late playing poker with Tarot cards. I got a full house and four people died.

Don't worry, Fes - I'll keep you guys posted!  ;)

Rob - these will be released the same way as the RUN decks as Murphy's only do wholesale and not retail. I'm working on getting a few links to retailers who will have this available, and also a release date.

The one thing that I don't like is that Murphy's opted for a standard Bicycle Ace of Spades.  There's not a bit of Bicycle branding anywhere else; why use that AoS when a custom version would probably look better?  I had the same feeling when I saw Criss Angel's new USPC-made decks - he, too, used the standard Bicycle AoS.  I just feel like it's a lost opportunity to really put your mark on this deck.

I hope the jokers aren't standard as well!  These are the only places on the faces where a simple custom deck can shine with creativity.

NOTE: I define a "simple custom deck" as being one with a unique back, Ace of Spades and jokers.  The remaining faces are standard in design, though perhaps in an altered color scheme.  Anything goes regarding the box.  This is as opposed to a full-custom deck, where every aspect of each face has at least some greater degree of customization - unique pips, pip placement patterns, indices, artwork, background, border, EVERYTHING.

Don, I have a feeling that the price on these will reflect what you pointed out. The lack of custom AoS is less work and easier to get done. I don't see any Embossing on the tucks either. These appear to be a down to earth straight deck of cards. Personally, I appreciate that as much as I appreciate the over the top customization we're all seeing so much more often. Provided of course, price reflect this fact haha. If it's an expensive deck, give me all the bells and whistles, toss in some chowder as well since it's cold outside hahaha.

We'll have to see what happens. Although given the decent price on RUN late last year. I think MM will be releasing these with an acceptable price in mind.

Some of you have been asking about the price tag. I believe we're looking at an MSRP around $6.95 for these decks.

These decks are available at http://collectableplayingcards.com now, I'll try and swing by with some more retailers as I get the links. (And I'm sure Paul will link as soon as he has them up as well. :) )

Don, no real story. It was my first project as a commercial designer with Murphy's. I had great fun working with the team to come up with a classic look that would fit in an every day use type of setting. With all the massively custom decks, we felt this would be a nice departure from the norm. :D

I'm with Don, welcome back Lance. Glad to see your back playing around with cards.  :D
I saw your name come up in the Clear the Deck last month & was hoping you would be getting active again with some new card designs.
Looking forward to seeing this deck and any other contributions in the pipeline, its been awhile since the Actuators.

It's interesting that you mention his appearance in Clear the Decks - the January 2015 issue of Card Culture, due out on Thursday, has a multi-page spread on his Gargoyles design, from concept to completion.  Should be a good read!  I'm just putting some finishing touches on the magazine tonight.
