This board is more than just a haven for those of us who are obsessed with the world of art. Some of you may have never even opened Photoshop. Here are a few reasons why that does not matter:

1. Not everything here is related to drawing or Photoshop. We welcome all production in this board, including video and even literature.

2. Even if you're not into ANY of that stuff (a few of you live under rocks, apparently), it's never too late to start. Feel free to post questions, or request help. Those of us that are experienced in the field will do our best to assist you.

So whip out whatever tools you have that you can use to create...anything... and show us what you're capable of!

First off, I'm not interested in purchasing any expensive or complicated programs like Photoshop. I'm mainly here to find out how to design 1 deck for the trial deck that is in another forum. Obviously, for those who've seen the forum, you will understand why I don't want to pay hundreds for a  deck that will cost $50 for production. All I have the knowledge to do is draw rough sketches of the back design. The faces are standard bicycle and the pips are Symmetry Pip. Please help.

So what are you asking for?  Are you wanting to hire someone to scan your drawings?  Hire someone to convert your drawings to digital art? Hire someone to completely redo what you drew?

If you are not willing (or able) to use Photoshop/Illustrator then you have a HUGE uphill battle that will cost just as much or even more than the programs themselves. Paying someone hourly to work is expensive; designing a deck of cards takes a LONG time.

And I don't even think this is the right place if you are looking for help. Try Design & Developpement. That might be more helpful.

Heads up, if you are a student you can get a MAJOR discount from adobe as well as many others. I always recommend this to friends and colleges getting into the field.

If not, look into the basic photoshop packages. You would be surprised. There are some simplified and cost effective options out there for you.

In my opinion it is defiantly worth learning. However it will take time.

It's all gonna come down to how soon you want to get the deck out there. I may considering hiring someone as Russell stated in order to be time/cost effective.

Trials give you a month of uninterrupted practice too. You can download a top-end version of Photoshop (CS6 in this case) and enjoy.

Pick a low key month where you have the most free time and get to work!

So, how does one learn defiantly?  "I'll learn this no matter how BADLY you teach it!!!  This, is, LEARNING!!!"  :))

Simple, go Naked and you will. Or even better, wear a three piece suit with sneakers and a mowhawk. That should do it!
Friggen apple autocorrect. Should have been, Definitely.

Still getting the hange of how y'all operate here with quotes.

I missplace the word definitely with defiantly in regards to learning. Don jumped on it and said he wants to learn this way (defiantly) and I responded with my defiant version of learning...I guess. Then (I dont know why) added some famous quotes that applied. Take it as you will.
