I've not got more to say on these.  Someone with a more articulate vocabulary can critique these for me....  Probably best done in a private space.  Text is fine, no video review required.

I'm curious who the target audience for these are. It's not me because the deck doesn't make any sense and Cupid the love angel is slightly more disturbing than Dumbledore's got his groove back. I have nothing against nudity or erotic hints in playing cards personally. I just think it needs to make sense and this, well yea. I don't get it so I know I'm not the target audience here.

I get a strange, WTF, vibe off of these and I don't mean that in a good way unfortunately. I think the designer probably had a theme in mind and it was probably great in their head. I don't know that it translated quite so well though. I would caution going too outlandish and reigning it in a bit for consistency. Maybe the theme is supposed to be going everywhere, if that's the case then this style of deck will never be to my taste. I like crazy images, but they need to make sense as an overall whole for me to buy into it. I guess it feels like a collection of images tossed together to form some courts with a valentines name slapped on it, whether any of them or the name has anything to do with the actual deck or not type of deal.

This one isn't for me.

I couldn't imagine all that many people I know who would be comfortable giving this deck as a Valentine's Day gift.  I wouldn't give it to my wife because it's filled with semi-nude women - not her most favorite type of art.  She wouldn't give it to me because it's filled with semi-nude women - and she'd prefer I'd be thinking of her on Valentine's Day and not a bunch of fictional bimbos on a pack of playing cards!

Regardless, the campaign doesn't even close until mid-March and the rewards delivery estimate is in early summer.  I know few people who would want an "IOU" Valentine's Day gift they'd have to wait this long to receive.

There's also the matter of those interesting Valentine's Day electronic gifts of greeting cards and videos.  He offers the e-card signed.  Signed?  That must be one helluva Sharpie he's using...  And the video?  Mike mentions no deadline by which the request must be made, but promises a Valentine's Day delivery.  Furthermore, what's to stop a backer from pledging at the right levels for these wonderful rewards that are being delivered before the campaign ends, then canceling their pledges on February 15th?

Let me ask you, Mike: what about this deck would make it such an ideal gift for Valentine's Day?  Last time I checked, none of the women I've known would have appreciated a deck filled mostly with semi-dressed women as a gift for any occasion (except for that one bisexual girl, but that's a story for another day as well as a major outlier on the Bell curve).  It might be fun to receive one as a guy, but I'm also of the opinion that most women wouldn't buy this for their guy, for much the same reason most women don't give subscriptions to Penthouse magazine or hardcore fetish porn videos.

So, bearing all of that in mind, explain please how your deck is a fantastic Valentine's Day present - and also explain the "from whom" and "to whom" of it as well.

I think if you sold the deck as racy artwork for guys akin to the men's magazines that don't actually show any nudity but come close to it.  More like "Lust" rather than "Love."

I agree with you Don. I'd go further and say it's okay to have some nudity if it's classy and well done. Whatever the case, the deck should be focused quite a bit more. If it's a selling point is to be a T&A deck, that's fine, but it can't be all over the place with Dumbledore and whatever that horned girl thing is one card away. If it's a fantasy deck, which is what Dumbledore makes me think of, it doesn't need to have any T&A involved nor should it be a lust, love, or anything in between.

Btw fun question. As the deck stands today, does anyone have any idea exactly what's going on there?

I am not sure if you are at the right place to post this...
I thought there is a page where you can ask for feedback for card design.
Anyway the design look too colourful IMO, I am not so fancy with the court cards as well.
How do I put it.. the girls are awesome don't get me wrong but I don't think that's what art collectors are looking for..
I don't see the uniqueness on the whole design. Especially this is a valentine playing cards, I don't really see how it fits the theme.

Anyway sorry if I am not very clear... I am new to card collecting as well so it is just what I think.

Hello Mike, welcome to the forum!

This isn't the best place to post this, Design and Developement area would garner you more information. I'm here to help though so I'll happily give you my opinion.

As a Valentines day deck, this would only get me in trouble if I gave it to my girl. Dumbledore doesn't do much for her and by nature she's a jealous beast so the chicks won't help the situation any either. I'd suggest ditching anything to do with valentines.

Your deck is going in many directions, should probably focus it into a more clear pattern. Target your audience first. If it's men, consider a pin ups style deck loaded with women. If it's women, consider guys in uniforms. If it's fantasy book people, consider mythical situations and go that route however fully clothed.

As it is for the face design. I think the frame you have going there is just getting in the way, consider pulling it from the card faces. Remove any text from the card faces as well. A clean look is appreciated if you're dealing with risque` images. Also would be a very good idea to lose the "Love" theme entirely either way you choose to go. If you keep it classy, your deck will appeal to a much wider audience no matter the theme you choose.

Forgot to point out. Probably a good idea to fulfill one project entirely before Kickstarting a second. You'll get more support when people see they can trust the campaigns to deliver.

EDIT: done.  Please keep your posts about this deck here.  Introduce Yourself is all the way over in Off-Topic Chat, generally having a lot LESS to do with playing cards.  Don't spam it up, please.
