There's a number of odd elements to this deck.  A Jack carrying a torch?  TWO suicide Kings?

But so what?

This isn't a traditional "I wanna play cards" deck.  This is a "just stands out enough without being distracting, makes my moves look cool" cardistry deck.  Not good as a poker deck, but who cares?  There's a metric f**kton of good or good-enough poker decks out there.  Same thing applies for magic - and besides, what magician would want to use a fancy, expensive (compared to common Bikes), limited-edition deck in a street performance, without any matching gaff cards or gaff decks of any kind?  Aside from what the Virts and De'vo/Handlordz are producing, there's almost nothing for cardistry.

Hi Don, thanks a bunch man. We realise that they're different and that's what we wanted them to be, we're glad you recognise that and appreciate it. Cheers

Hey, feel free to quote me for your project.

"It's a fun, playful design that puts a new twist on the classic, standard pack of playing cards.  These will be great for a casual game and will look fantastic in flourishes."

I still don't see any story. Does this deck really have it? Or the whole story is in the statement that it exists.
This campaign is driven by very young people. It is so clear. Nothing negative - just the obvious fact.

I'm not entirely clear what you're saying in regard to a story.  What story are you talking about?  The story of how the cards came to be, or some story about the theme of the cards themselves?

I'm flattered that you consider me young!  My first gray hair was decades ago, so thanks!

HAIR!?! LOL

I was on the fence about the one-way back design. I don't mind that so much anymore.

I do however have a problem with the inconsistent sizing from one court card to the next. Also the back borders are a bit thicker then whats being designed as of late.

The back design is one way; it is perhaps one of, if not, the most unobtrusive and functional major one-way design. This allows for a unique story and symbolism to be evoked; metaphors of life and mortality, thievery, lies, deceit, power, mysticism, struggle, and love.

It creates a backstory for the Joker and the Thief and is seen throughout the rest of the deck. For example, we see the opposition of the King and Joker, the way they oppose each other, each being attacked by a viper, a symbol that despite their contrast, both share the same fate…

The court cards are all completely custom, illustrated from scratch. The themes that you see on the back design are seen here. You may even start to see a story forming as you look through them. We have created something different
…”

Very interesting way to declare that you are one of the managers in this project. My post was about James Milaras & Reuben Nutt.

p.s. By the way, this “…For example, we see the opposition of the King and Joker, the way they oppose each other…” eliminates the necessity to point out that the creators are deck reviewers  :) I felt myself in Louvre.

Well, that wasn't entirely clear in what you posted.  I'll quote it.

Yes, one could infer that the deck's producers were "driving" the project - but one could just as easily infer that it's the backers and promoters of the project, people such as me (haven't backed yet, but might, and I have been promoting it here) are "driving" the project, in the sense that we're providing the funding and the word of mouth about the deck in order to help the project succeed.  Hence my confusion.

I'm not a manager of the project, though Jay mentioned earlier in this topic that he's a direct part of it.  I'm just an avid verbal supporter.

Easily one of my favorite decks of the year. These turned out to be spectacular, and my dumb ass limped in instead of going in heavy hahaha. Needless to say, I'm picking up some more of these. :))
Part of my Collection updated infrequently but occasionally, when I remember. (I haven't in months.)
