Hey guys. A little more history on the deck..
Arrcos are one of my all-time favorites. I'd been contemplating a custom run for a few years. Right around the time I was thinking of doing it, the older reprints (red, blue, black, and green) were made. I was excited, because it would save me the trouble of doing it! I was disappointed, as were many others, that the decks did not handle well. They looked great, but the quality just wasn't there.
Fast forward a couple years, and I decided that I wanted to bring some high-quality Arrcos back to the market. I went with white so that we could eliminate any confusion about what deck people were getting. If I'd made Red and Blue, people wouldn't necessarily know if they were getting Cincinnati, old reprints, or new ones. Whites have never been made before, and I wanted it to be very clear to people that these are NOT associated with the black-seal reprints.
The run was done by my company, The New York Magic Project. I also work quite a lot with my friends at the Blue Crown, so they will be carrying some of the decks too.
For this first run of Whites, we made 5,000. Gotta see if the market demand is there. Personally, I would love to continue to make additional runs of the Whites, and also branch into bringing Red and Blue back to the market, and possibly Black or Green. If it looks like the demand exists, it won't be a problem. So, for now, there are 5,000 white decks. There may or may not be more in the future, that will depend on how things go with the first run and the feedback we get. So if you love them, let us know!
We printed on 325 stock and magic finish, they feel absolutely wonderful. The design is the classic Arrco US Regulation, in an inverted black and white color scheme.
Since these decks are not plastic coated like the older Arrcos, we changed any references on the box/jokers to it. We don't want to mislead people into thinking that these are plastic coated, because they are not.
The jokers are virtually identical, we've worked a reveal into one of them. There are also no ad cards, you get 2 different double-backers instead. The deck is also in a special stack, it's not regular new deck order.
Hopefully that answers most of the questions you guys have about the cards. They'll be available this Tuesday, the 6th. You can pick them up from The Blue Crown, or from our dedicated Arrco site, which will be launching on Tuesday.
