The blurred front of the box looks like it says Expert At The Card Table (with two acorns at the end)... and I do like EATCT themed decks.

I like the professor's works a lot also. Incredible man, incredible life.

The Buck twins nearly always print with USPCC... and if that's the case, that'll be the one thing (crap quality materials, cutting, and printing) that'll make me pass on a deck I would have otherwise purchased a brick on.
With this signature I'm following the example set by Fes: There is only ONE letter L in my display name. "Holly" is a female name... and I'm a bearded guy who's into weightlifting. There's nothing feminine about me brother!

One of their instagram posts said only 500 printed.  So perhaps not USPCC.

I doubt it's Expert.  Even they don't do runs that small.  In fact, as far as advertised minimums, Expert's is 1,000 while Legends is 900.  I'm betting there's more than 500 of the deck in existence and they're planning to RELEASE 500.  (At least today, anyway.)  Could also be that the "limited, serially-numbered, uber-special mega-fancy edition with golden sticker" is limited to 500 and that there will be a more "mundane" release of more decks.

Really hard for me to be excited or get amped up when all I see is a tuck. Hopefully they'll show a card back sometime soon and we can see a little more.
Part of my Collection updated infrequently but occasionally, when I remember. (I haven't in months.)

  • Charm gets you quite far. Guile gets you the rest.
Didn't another deck company just put out an Expert deck? T11 or E or something?

Everyone should get ready for my new Expert at the Card Table, Steampunk themed, Zombie Minimalist deck. The courts will be my friends that none of you have ever heard of, but UNDEAD, how novel and original! AMIRITE?
Kickstarter completely revolutionized the way I waste money.

The people who handle playing cards are always in a world of delicate fingertip technology.

Jeeze,  focus blur is one thing. I can understand and accept that in a teaser. This though, someone needs to step away from the photoshop. That's just terrible.

What worries me is that stamped bag they're teasing. I'm doing one of those as an add on exclusive for my Mexican deck and will now look like a copy :(

Still, I hope it looks really good :)

Someone didn't proofread this card...  "It would be of criminal nature to presume that Dai Vernon might require a moments introduction."  "It would be of criminal nature to presume" doesn't exactly roll off the tongue, though technically it's correct - "It would be criminal to presume" makes a lot more sense.  But "a moments introduction" is just plain WRONG.  It's supposed to be "a moment's introduction," because the introduction belongs to the moment - singular possessive form, not plural.

Seems they don't hold Dai Vernon in high enough regard to hire a proofreader...

I think this is gonna be overpriced again... just like the Aristocrat Classic...
$14.95 each deck maybe... could be more...

Considering they're numbered 1-500, most likely.

I spotted another typographic flaw on the same card...

"A tireless inquiry of S.W. Erdnase's, The Expert at the Card Table, assumed the very inception...[legible text ends here]"

As the title of a book, it should appear as either Erdnase's "The Expert at the Card Table" or as Erdnase's The Expert at the Card Table.  Comma separations aren't the correct way to indicate the title of a book.  The second comma (following the word Table) MIGHT be appropriate, depending on what the latter portion of the sentence contains.

At a guess I reckon its going to be an art print of Vernon studying the EATCT, on an uncut sheet of the cards (the reverse being the faces of the playing cards).  You will need to buy the print to get the deck, hence only 500 will be available.

"In collaboration with an expert, a genius and an artist" - EATCT, Vernon and Dan Fredrickson(?).

Pure guess work, but if it pans out to be correct, for sure a heavy price tag will be involved.

I am guessing people will get this more for collection purpose rather than playing the cards.
Crazy price tag though.. Dan and Dave is becoming more of a marketing team  ???

Not a bad price for all included, not a bad looking tribute deck either for that matter. I like it.

I tried reading that card with the typos on it.  My oh my.  The rest of it also reads like it was written by an ESL student (that's "English as a Second Language," to the uninitiated)...

Despite it all, I have to agree with Fes - I like it and picked it up.  I think its a fairly novel collectors item; but then again, as I have said before I am a complete sucker!

Now if they had put together a new copy of "Revelations" along with a deck, I might have been interested.
