This, I like...

I like it too, just not sure how much I like it. The creator is definitely a hands on fellow which adds to the campaign. This may just be a breakout deck for NPCC, getting more of their printed product into some of our hands for better or for worse, whichever. I'm still on the fence myself for these, for me it's a font issue on the indices.

Anyway, here's a quote from the KS campaign page.
Quote
I require top service, manageable production/import costs, and an efficient production flow. NPCC is the obvious choice for me for this deck project and I have a good communication with them. Working with NPCC will allow a great mix of above mentioned aspects

I've tested the quality of their cards. Do you know their Branle deck? You can expect the same quality feel with Indictus. If for some obscure reason our cooperation fails, I will simply turn towards another printer and ensure the best possible deck quality and fulfillment for all backers.

Overall, I like this design...but...
Let me start with good things, I do like the theme...Shakespeare and all. The tuck looks great but..most of it is an old style wallpaper design.
Other ornaments do make it look great though.

Back is perfect, it has depth, really nice, I see the snake.
Indices and pips also perfect as the overall design of cards.

What I don't really like..., are the court cards. The drawing style don't match the rest of design. Too sketchy, should've been more precise line work and a little more skillful.
That wrapping ribbon in center also a bit too wide, I expected to see some text there.

Aces look great.

  • Charm gets you quite far. Guile gets you the rest.
The 'antique sketchbook' look is starting to wear out it's welcome with me, but I do really love the art here, I wish the back design was more consistent with the faces, but I'm not sure roughly $18 per deck, even at $30 for a pair, is going to work from me, especially without knowing much about the printer...
Kickstarter completely revolutionized the way I waste money.

The people who handle playing cards are always in a world of delicate fingertip technology.
