Edit: Know who MPC is. I have Never heard of this Ideal PCC, has anyone else or is it a non-existant?

Viper Playing Cards is a deck of cards that is made for the game of cards. The decks are printed by Making Playing Cards (MPC) and fulfilled by Ideal Playing Card Company.

The creator is probably the Ideal Playing Card Company.

Not a bad design, but if it's for players, it's a mistake to make the red suits different colors in each deck - you want matching faces for poker pairs.  Also, having a diagonal "poker peek" index on the normally-blank corners is a bad idea - you can't read two cards side-by-side without spreading them too far apart.

On the plus side, they're not too expensive - $9 a pack.  On the minus side, they're not "casino grade" with stock that's only 310 gsm - Bicycle was that thin before they switched to the Erlanger plant.

He really could use a business partner and the ability to take advice. Designs are decent and could become good decks with patience and refinement. Serial failures on Kickstarter though have sunk this ship.

I've become so accustomed to tuck boxes with glued bottom flaps that I'm already bothered seeing a bottom tuck flap. Getting 2 or 3 cards that just won't sink down with the rest makes me cringe. If I have trouble putting them away, I won't likely get them out again.

They look good enough. Ironically, perhaps, I'd like them better if they didn't claim to be "for the players." Too much novelty in color and layout to take to the game.
I'm not sure what you mean, Don, by the peek corners and having to spread them out. That's the only "for the players" feature I like.

Take a pair of pieces of paper and draw indices on the corners at an angle, like these are.  Peek at the corners like you were trying to read the cards at the table.  Now do the same thing with a standard pack of cards.  You'll notice that in order to read both of your hand-written diagonal indices, you have to spread the two cards further apart in order to see them.  An index right at the edge of the card requires only the tiniest of spreads to be read.  Anything that causes one to have to spread their cards further apart to read the indices increases the risk of accidentally flashing their cards to an opposing player.

I looked over his project history - in under three months, he's launched eight other projects, only one of which he didn't cancel before its funding cycle ended, and it failed.  The kid looks like he's still in high school - he might not even be old enough to hold a credit card, never mind a KS account!  Based on his creator history, he's got serious ADHD.  Read his bio:

So we now know who "Ideal Playing Cards" is - it's him, like I thought.  I hope that English isn't his native language, because if it is, he's terrible at communicating in it.  He's been playing cards since he could read - but not since he could write, since he's not quite there yet!

Skinny, I wouldn't worry about his tuck boxes.  With his track record, these cards are unlikely to ever see the light of day.

Think this is his 9th kickstarter.... this is what he said last time he cancelled funding

This project will cancel funding due to the fact that there is no progression and I have other plans for other projects.

Please understand that I am launching all these projects hoping that 1 will succeed.

Many will say that take 8 to 10 months on one deck. Who has time for that. I put in hours of my time designing these decks of cards with passion.

Nope. Just nope. You may think this is just a playing card project, but this is actually indicative of the poor state of our society; the expectation for instant success, the lack of commitment and hard work, the lack of foundational design principles and the idea that everything is valuable and should be easy.

Real quality takes hard work. Not everything you dream up is good, valuable, or should exist (I scrap innumerable designs before the public sees any of my work). There is more to projects like this than tossing a 1 hour design onto the screen. Everything about this approach is wrong and NEEDS to fail, hard and embarrassingly, so that it provides the lessons that he's clearly not getting anywhere else.

It would fail - if he bothered to give it enough time to fail.  He keeps pulling the plug before it has a chance to fail.  It's like he wants to start a fire, builds the wood pile, lights the kindling, then pisses on it before the wood catches.  It might have been wet wood in the first place and it might have been raining at the time, but pissing on it isn't helping.

He's using the logic that if he keeps trying, sooner or later one of his ideas will stick.  The problem is that performing the same task over and over while expecting different results each time is the definition of insanity, or at the least some very flawed logic.
