Hey friends!

Kyle Marlett from Vanishing Inc Magic here! I just wanted to share our new deck and our very first Kickstarter campaign!

Here's a little info about the deck!

When Vanishing Inc. Magic set out to design its first deck of signature brand playing cards, we had one specific goal in mind: to create the most fashion-forward, subtle, and sophisticated "look" for a deck of cards yet devised. The result is the Dapper Deck Deluxe Package, which is an attractive deck of cards crafted from the finest stock and finish, along with a matching silk tie and a 1000 thread count pocket square. Everything is packaged in a hand-painted wooden lacquer box complete with lock, practice mirror, and Dapper Deck insignia. Each package comes with a numbered, signed certificate by creators Joshua Jay and Andi Gladwin. Strictly limited to 400 units.

We consulted with two fashion industry experts to help us hone a design that would match fine suits that the stylish magicians we create for would wear. The dapper base colors are navy blue or, for more of a punch, Jerry's Nugget Orange. The details are in pastel shades of green, yellow, red, and grey, and each back design is designed to bring out the colors of your wardrobe, and accent the tie or pocket square in your ensemble.

The Dapper Deck Deluxe is comprised of a heavy wooden box that previews the Dapper Deck design. Inside you are supplied with a deck of each color--navy and orange--as well as the pocket square (made of the finest quality silk available to us) and a thin, silk tie. A practice mirror is provided on the lid of the box for a quick check to make sure your hands are nimble and your tie is on straight. And an ornamental lock and key are provided to keep unsuspecting eyes away from the secrets of the Dapper Deck.

The beautiful Dapper Decks will be printed by Expert Card Company.

Right now we are over 50% funded in just over a week! We also just recently added add ons for those interested.

You can find out more about here -> https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1603294121/the-dapper-deck-by-vanishing-inc

Hope you guys enjoy!

Thanks!
-Kyle

  • Pick a card, any card...no, not THAT card!

I think the idea is a good one, but perhaps it's just my personal preference - when I think "fashion-forward, subtle and sophisticated," rainbow-colored paisley is NOT the first thing to come to my mind.  I can think of many other designs that I would have liked more.  Please tell me you'll be making this in more designs, preferably ones that I'd find less garish.  The entire matched-set concept is great, and the ability to get replacement decks (or perhaps a good deck in Dura-Flex plastic) would be a nice touch - cards wear out a LOT faster than pocket squares or ties.

Well, I like these decks a lot. I think they're pretty flashy and very cool. I'm quite happy to be in. ;)
Part of my Collection updated infrequently but occasionally, when I remember. (I haven't in months.)

They would look like LUXX Palmes won't it?

Jerry's Nugget Orange?

The latest colour on the colour chart.  :P

Back to the deck though, I don't know why but when i see Dapper Deck, i somehow expected to see this, and quite like this.
Not so much the tuck box, but i do like the back. I do hope a little more can be done to the courts though.

As of this moment, they're $13 above goal, so expect a deduction from your account when it closes in three days!  :))

Again, like the concept, hate the chosen design.  Something more subtle and sophisticated would have been far better, I think, and would have gotten them to goal quicker.

Like what?  It's a magician's deck.  Magicians tend to stick to the basics when it comes to face design because the audience will recognize the cards faster and identify with the deck as a whole more readily.  The most they would have done would have been a darkening of the red used, but it's not a casino deck, a replica of one or modeled after one, so there's no need.  Why do you think most T11 decks have standard faces with at most a darker shade of red to make them different from what you'd see in a pack of Bikes?

Faces, fine.  Those backs are another ball of wax altogether...
