I'm not familiar with APCC - what company is that?

Have you considered using Expert PCC?  They offer fulfillment from their plant in Taipei as well as with their fulfillment partner, Gambler's Warehouse, in the Dallas area.

A suggestion on the design.  The smeared hand background for the pips - it reminds me more of orcs than dwarves, especially after the LotR movies!  Have you considered "losing the hand" and making the index pips look like cut gems in the shapes of the suits?  THAT would be more in line with what a dwarf would do, I think.

Sorry that should have been USPC, thats what happens when you try and get stuff done after midnight. Thanks for the suggestion on the pips, I actual quite like the idea, and as we are going to be making a Orc deck too we can still use what we have made later. I will have  a look at PCC also thanks.

If you use EPCC and have them fulfill your orders, you'll save a lot of work and get swift package delivery.  It might cost a little more, but it beats having to fill out Customs forms, pack boxes to protect the decks, arrange for Post Office pick-ups, etc. and you don't have to warehouse much of anything in your home.

We think our tuck box is just about ready, the Bicycle logo is just a place holder and will be replaced by the logo of the company we decide to go with, or with the "Aran De Baron" logo. let us know what you think. Cheers

I think the tuck box is looking really good so far , but a couple comments/suggestions :

(1) The style of the banner on the front (with De Baron Studio) looks a little out of place compared to the rest of the tuck...it looks cartoonish compared to the more realistic look of the rest of the tuck

(2)  Instead of putting the printing company brand, why don't you put the title of the deck 'Dwarfs/Dwarves' on the tuck in a similar style font?

I think the banner should follow the card back, using the brighter colors, higher contrast and having the "pegged" look instead of winding like a ribbon.  Still, even if they hit the market like this, I'm hoping to find this deck in my collection.

As for the Bicycle logo, we feel that if we are going to pay for some one like Bicycle or Legends Playing Cards we may as well use their name as it has industry recondition and brings its own prestige.

Completely understand wanting to use the Printer Name, especially with USPCC, but why not then put the name of the deck in the ribbon on the front of the tuck...don't really like De Baron Studios as it doesn't fit the rest of the theme and is a little too much (imho) 

With that being said, I am definitely backing this project

Hi Cardfool, We are very happy to hear that, thank you! I'm leaning heavenly toward Legends Playing cards, but the 3 month turnaround time is a bit of a issue. Its still up for discussion, we have gotten initial quotes from both LPCC and APCC. any advice from you guys would also be very welcome.

In the event you were to use USPC, they charge a bit extra for use of the Bicycle brand, it has to be approved by the Brand Manager and there are restrictions as to how the logo can be presented - I'm told they usually put the Bicycle log on themselves instead of leaving it to other artists.

Don't know how Legends/LPCC would work in terms of using the Legends brand - but why use their brand as your brand?  You'll have the manufacturer name on your deck, I'm sure - better to establish YOUR brand.  Having your own brand allows you to switch printers, use more than one printer, etc. without having to seek some other company's approval or permission (or receive their rejection).

Why not make the company name in smaller print, the deck name in larger print?  When you go to the store and buy Bee or Bicycle, that's the biggest name on the box - USPC is in tiny print on the bottom and little print on the sides.  If the deck has a subtitle, like "Bicycle Dragon Back," that subtitle is still in smaller print on the bottom of the face of the box.  It's your Dwarves deck - make that name the front-and-center name, especially if you plan to make more Dwarves decks.

I think he was borrowing from the art used in the "Lord of the Rings" movies as body paint for the orcs loyal to Sauron - they had a white hand printed on their faces.  I'd suggested using gem shapes instead and he seemed to like that idea better, reserving the hand concept for a future Orc deck.
