They look nice, but at $80 early bird/$90 regular KS, they're not cheap.  For that price, a way to display the box with it would be a nice option!

We are looking into a possible option in the future to display the tuck as well.

  • Charm gets you quite far. Guile gets you the rest.

Will you be offering a $20 or $30 edition?

We unfortunately can't get the price down to $20-30. We've tried, but the material being used and the labor won't allow us to go that low. They are really nice and sturdy frames.

It's cool, but too expensive for me.  I'd be in at the $40 - $50 price point.

That's understood - there's a chance it might not be practical for collectors.  I think they're absolutely lovely, but they're just too costly.  Bear in mind this is simply my opinion - there may be collectors out there who think this is the bee's knees.

For modern deck collectors, it's a tough sell because the rarer, costlier decks people tend to keep in the sealed tuck box (opened decks are often perceived as having lower value) and it's not worth spending $90 to frame a $5 deck.  For a VINTAGE collector, however, this could be a much more appealing idea - most vintage decks are found without their box, never mind in a sealed box, and this would allow for displaying a valued deck design while keeping it protected at the same time, in which case, spending $90 isn't such a stretch of the imagination.  You should post about this in A Cellar of Fine Vintages.  The only issue you'd be likely to run into is that the oldest, most valued decks (more in the antique category than vintage) were not always made in standard poker size - but this is a minor issue at best.  There's enough older decks that would fit in this frame nicely to make it an appealing product to vintage collectors.  I think a popular subcategory of vintage collectors that would find this appealing would be casino deck collectors.

Thank you all for the pledges that you have made! I have some good news for you all. I have come to the conclusion that these frames will not reach it's initial goal unless the price point is lower. There are several people out there that will help us reach its goal with a lower price point. I will be suspending this campaign and relaunching with a new price of $60 per frame. I would greatly appreciate if you were to pledge again on the relaunch. Thank you again for your support.

:)

Thanks for the info.  I merged this with the old topic - for archival purposes, it's easier to have all info on a specific item in a single topic.

Note the title was re-edited.  To edit a topic title, you re-edit the first topic in the title.  Admins, mods and the original author (in this case, you) can make such edits.
