Hey Wolf! Welcome to the forum
I don't buy any USPCC decks these days... but those Trips definitely make me want to make an exception!
Even the Cherries deck that Fes has posted looks pretty cool... simple, yet classy. I like it!
A few decks arrived at my place this week.
Limited Edition NOC V3 reprints:
This is the first time I've purchased any NOC decks... and together in a set, they look quite nice. I like them.
DMC decks:
I saw the FB update from Magic Orthodoxy regarding this release, and so I thought I'd check it out. The sales page boasted one of the best marking systems around... and so I was curious.
Overall, I found it to be a disappointing deck. Although gold foil on black is nearly always pretty cool on a tuckbox (Golden Spike Black Ink edition was a masterpiece), I was disappointed with this tuckbox because the cardstock for the tuck felt pretty cheap -- not too different to the feel of boxes which you find fruit and veg in at the local greengrocers.
The cards themselves are strictly okay. Everything except for the AoS and the two red kings are standard (I don't like custom courts anyway). The registration and cutting is nowhere near as bad as USPCC. Card stock is more durable than the USPCC junk... but the coating is not so good -- slip factor is actually pretty bad.
The marking system is definitely easy to read (even from across a table)... but the problem is that the markings are too easy for even a layman to find. The only way they'd pass in a performance is if the spectator was hellbent on NOT looking for markings.
