Very nice Don, Gratz.............do I dare ask what the bet was, lol

Nothing major.  I was prepping for a medical procedure and my wife was under the mistaken impression that I wasn't allowed to have any fluids at a given point in the preparations.  So I bet her she was wrong and asked the doctor about it the next day.  I won the bet.

Very nice acquisitions Don. I, myself just ordered the Karnival Delirium deck. I'm excited to see them. Also ordered the Ultimate Deck by Dan and Dave. Those cards seem beautiful. Unfortunately couldn't afford two decks so I am in between keeping them sealed or just opening them and looking at how beautiful they are.

I know it is something most of you probably already have but my Ultimate Deck by Dan & Dave finally came in today. One of the most beautiful things I have seen haha I am torn between opening it and not opening it. I may have to wait until the holidays and buy another just so I can open it and see how amazing the cards are themselves. Hopefully the wow factor of the box is enough to keep me waiting =p

Actually, you'd be surprised how many people DIDN'T buy that deck.  It's not a bad deck per se, but it wasn't terribly practical as a pack of cards and was really more of an art deck.  There's some great art in there, and the packaging is very impressive.  But for a lot of people, the $25 price tag for a new deck was too steep.  I wasn't fond of it, so I didn't get one - by my personal tastes are hardly the ruler by which all decks should be measured!  As long as it makes you happy, that's great.

Sweet!  Do you have an approximate age?  That tax stamp was in use between 1940 and 1965.

I knew about the tax stamp being used during that time. But I am not anywhere near an expert in the vintage area. I'll do some digging and see if I can find any more info, see if I can get a more precise date from any indications on the tuck

You can tell from subtle differences in box designs over the years, and possibly from the cancellation on the stamp itself, if it's clear enough to read.  There's a woman in 52+Joker who could write the book on the subject of playing card tax stamps (in fact, I think she DID write a book on it)!

That's very cool Curt, Gratz! I gotta learn a bit more about vintage decks.

52 Plus Joker is an excellent place to start.  They have a quarterly journal called "Clear the Decks" that's a wealth of information on anything playing cards, most of it being vintage until recently.  They're making efforts to expand the membership and reach out to younger collectors who are following the current custom deck wave.  It's $25/year - 52plusjoker.org is their site.

CtD is also available as part of CARC's Ask Alexander database, but membership there is a bit more costly and aimed more at the professional magician or cardist.  It does, however, entitle you to all the member discounts and getting first crack at CARC releases.

Was very happy to land a single digit number on the Deco collectors ed.  No. 7/100

FYI, Nurul's League Back was at my house for a couple day as I was an intermediary so he could save on shipping.  It almost didn't make the trip across the pond.    ;)  That freaking deck was in PERFECT condition.  Great get for him!

That is the back of the tuck but the regular Decos don't have that numbered seal or Paul's signature.  Hope that makes sense.

I was sorting through my collection a couple of days ago, sorting out all of my duplicates.

Here area couple of photos I took

And I scan all the fronts of my decks.  Here is a deck-stitch I made with the scans.
Here are most of the different decks in my collection (not including minis or bridge size)

You can see a larger version here that you can zoom in on:
