While waiting for my Black Friday stuff to reach me here across the ocean, I managed to get some decks today from two local sellers.

The post office was very kind to me today.

A sampling of what's inside, not disappointed by any of them.

Nice score on the DB gear.

Thanks guys! I've been eyeing the DB variety box but the prices on eBay are a bit high for me. Finally got a great deal from a nice chap selling off all his decks.

DAN AND DAVE
6x Mystery decks...can't wait to get these guys

Please let us know what you got - we've been debating the value of this year's offerings.

Yes please let us know. I told asked my mother to pick me up a couple for Christmas. I'll let you know how I fare.

Punch to the gut, Denim - Eco - 2 Smoke Reprints - Bruce Lees - Fulton's Clip Joints...couldn't be much worse. oh wait, several of the boxes arrived damaged and I'm pretty sure I can't return them.

Pretty much as a predicted, but it's more of a worst-case version.

If you receive decks in damaged condition, regardless of whether they were mystery decks or known up front, you should be entitled to replacements of the same decks.  So you should contact them - unless you don't care and plan to use the decks for practice or something like that, in which case, what the box looks like won't matter so much.  It's not exactly like it would be a problem for them to produce - every single deck you got is their own product and still in stock.

The plus is that of those six decks, only the Fulton's Clip Joint is a bit lagging in the performance department - the other five would likely be excellent to work with.  I keep semi-junky, "bang-around" decks in my pocket all the time - when I perform in public, I don't get heartbroken if they get trashed by a spectator.

HandSkillz, just be glad you didn't get stuck with all the same deck. Last year, of the brick I bought, 4 were Ask Alexander decks. I found out I hate them.
The S&M reprints are actually pretty nice cards. I really enjoy practicing with them and my spectators love the way they look. Wouldn't pay ten bucks for one, but close.

Damn.  Last WalMart I checked, they were out of stock on Streamlines.  Those are American-made ones, right?  Some recent older models were made in China, and before that some were made in Spain, most likely by Fournier.  The Chinese ones are TERRIBLE - making an Erdnase Exchange with them is a test of patience.

I might have to offer you a trade for some in the future, if your shop has more!

Yeah, if they don't do a return I'm pretty excited to at least try the Bruce Lee Deck, I've heard that they handle quite well from a friend of mine that got a pack yesterday.  The clip joints don't handle well? - too bad.  Maybe I'll trade the rest of the S&M decks for duplicates other people got haha.  Who wouldn't want a smoke, denim, and eco for a vintage plaid, fulton's october, and a deck to be named later? fml

Side question Don: if someone said you could only use one deck for the rest of your life, for practice AND (feel free to answer or too) performance, which deck(s) would it be?

That's a tough one, and I think we've had a topic along those lines before.  I'm going to start a fresh topic for it.

The Fulton's Clip Joint decks were a nice design with nice stock, but something about the finish caused it to wear out quickly.

They're AWESOME. The USPCC really nailed the registration. Perfectly even.

The only problem I have with it is that the inside of the box was scuffed up pretty bad. Hope it's just that deck.

Yup! I was ecstatic when I saw them. Walmart had a rip-off of the Streamlines about a month ago, but these are the real deal!

My camera isn't good enough to get a picture of the bottom of the box, so here's the USPCC seal.

I'll swing by Walmart tomorrow. If there's still some left, I'll clean them out and tell you.

They're absolutely fantastic.  Vintage faces, thin but firm stock and a fantastic coating and finish.  Fresh out of the box, they perform like a broken-in pack of Legends v1.

Hey guys,
I just got back from Hong Kong where I went a bit crazy buying decks because they can't be found in Australia.
Here's a picture of each unique deck in my haul (I also got duplicates of some that I didn't include in the picture).
What do you guys think?
I can't even say which one of those decks was the best find (Note: the jerry's in the photo aren't real, the shop keeper was upfront about that - I just bought one to feel what the handling of fake jerry's are like then I remembered I've never handled real Jerry's so... I can't compare XD. But scarily enough they handle well, they fan like crap but riffle beautifully.)

This image is a compressed one because the full one kept giving me an error :S
