Not quite playing cards I've gotten here, but something for my cards though :P

Now I'm note sure of the correct English word for this thing, but it's kinda like one large binder with two smaller binders inside of it - and each of the small binders fit 8 decks, so the binder fits a total of 16 decks! It's a pretty nice way of storing cards :)
That's petty cool Bastion....I second the Link request  :)

They look like a portfolio / archive storage box a photographer would use to store prints to showcase their work.

One could actually use the large box separately from the two smaller ones.  8 decks per small box, at least 16 in the big one, possibly more.

Don, you are a genius! I just tried it out, I can fit 27 decks in the large box by it self.. and then I got the two smaller boxes for themselves, that's another 16 deck storage available, a total of 43 deck storage, if you use the large box separately from the smaller ones!

EDIT:
If you fill the large binder with cards they are able to move around inside of the binders when you move it around, they are not sitting tight in there :)

A bit of foam padding can solve the problem with decks shifting around in the big box.  Pad the walls of the box just enough to keep the decks from moving when placed inside.

Got these decks locally from three different guys, two of 'em registered on this forum. Thanks Siegismyname and Amoszyk!

I paid around the same price for the Ohio-printed Tally-Ho brick + five miscellaneous decks as I did for the Exquisite and Black Legends. 8)

The big question on everyone's minds is: Circle Back, Fan Back or both?  :))  I didn't see any reds there - are there any?

There's only one red in the brick and they're all Circle Backs, Don. Would have loved to get my hands on some Fan Backs. I just love Tally-Hos, really!

Thanks Sparkz!

Hello all-

These are 4 decks i saved from the landfill, were going to be tossed after the original owner had passed.

Been googling for info and values...

These are all "adult" playing cards- the naughty stuff I obscured in this image, hope there is no problem posting it.

Note- these links show the full cards so don't click on them if you are offended by such things, but I'm pretty sure these are more "art" than anything else.

The "Can Can" cards - http://www.wopc.co.uk/france/philibert/cancan.html

And Le Florentine - http://www.wopc.co.uk/france/philibert/le-florentin.html

There's a shop near my house - actually, it's more of a farmer's market - that sells Tally Ho at $3 a pack.  They're boxed as Cincinnati decks but they have black seals and I've always found Erlanger markings on the cards themselves.  I suspect they're dealing with old new-condition stock, since those boxes should have been used up by about 2010, maybe 2011 on the outside.

They get the mixed bricks: 3 each of the four standard back/color combinations still in print.  And I've only seen one place that sells Tally Ho at anything near that price, and that is T11, when you buy in bulk.  They start at $2.95 and go as low as $2.60 if you buy a dozen or more.

If they're all in caps and written in script then they seem more like SJD to me.

You are right... That does look like an SJD to me, or possibly SGD.

SJD would be interesting... it may well be Salvador Jacinto Dalí.

It's more like S I D - I posted about it in your Introduce Yourself topic, comparing it to a few sample script fonts.  It appears to be a good match for S I D.  In those fonts, the I curls up the bottom left corner but stops short of crossing the vertical mid-line, while the J does the same but crosses the mid-line.

I bet "SID" is indeed the correct version because a lot of people called him "Sid" so it makes perfect sense. Can't believe it wasn't obvious.

These cards are from France, by the well known publisher Philibert, in the 1950's and 1960's. They are also very collectible because the designers like Becat and Albarran did them. The Casanova in particular draws buyers as every card has a different design. Certainly in the area of playing card collectors, these are not porno, slightly risque, but art. Your rescue effort save $6-800 from the landfill!

I wouldn't spend too much time on the initials. They look like regular Congress deck which could be order through Jewelers, Stationers, etc. with your initials on them for your home bridge games in the 1950's - 1960's. If done for a famous person I think they would have had special commemorative box, some gold printing on the box, etc.
